As some of you may know, these times are very stressful and especially so for high school seniors. Many of us are pacing like caged animals waiting for decisions on our applications, and this adds to all the other stresses that everybody else shares.
Luckily, there are two free courses on Coursera which can help. Yale's "The Science of Well-Being" taught by Professor Laurie Santos, and University of Pennsylvania's "Resilience Skills in a Time of Uncertainty" taught by Dr. Karen Reivich.
"The Science of Well-Being" focuses on helping you increase your happiness and productivity, and promises to help you "successfully incorporate a specific wellness activity into your life."
"Resilience Skills in a Time of Uncertainty" will teach you how to "incorporate resilience interventions into your personal and professional life", and also some ways to manage anxiety and relationships, along with increasing positive emotions.
In order to sign up for free, you need to create a Coursera account and then when enrolling, select the Full Course, No Certificate option, which will give you access to all the course materials for free.
Of course things are very stressful these days, but with many of us at home, you may have more free time, and one or both of these could well be its best use!
